Browser & device compatibility
WebGPU is a requirement, not a performance promise. Check your actual browser and GPU.
Reviewed October 11, 2026
Desktop is the starting point
Use an up-to-date Chrome or Edge release with hardware acceleration and a supported GPU. The upstream README lists Chrome/Edge 113+ with WebGPU, but version numbers alone are not a guarantee: operating systems, graphics drivers and browser policies can affect availability.
The project’s loader also mentions Safari 26+ and Firefox 141+ with WebGPU enabled. We have not verified those browser/OS combinations. Use our homepage’s browser check to confirm that an adapter is available in your current session.
What the browser check measures
The check looks for a secure context, the WebGPU API, and a result from navigator.gpu.requestAdapter(). It does not run a game benchmark, test memory capacity, or prove that a particular map will load. It does not upload the result.
Phones and tablets
The upstream build includes on-screen gamepad controls and a lighter rendering mode. On touch devices, our launcher requests both. This is experimental support: large downloads, shader compilation, memory pressure and heat may still prevent a useful session.
We have not completed physical iPhone, iPad or Android tests. A mobile-sized layout check only proves our guide fits the screen. For touch devices, opening the game in a separate tab may give the controls more space.
Black screen or slow startup
- Wait for the first engine download and shader compilation to finish.
- Run the WebGPU check and confirm browser hardware acceleration is enabled.
- Close other demanding applications and tabs, then retry in a current browser.
- Start with KenneyPark. Larger maps can require substantially more memory and loading time.
- If fullscreen, storage or input fails, end the session and retry in a supported desktop browser. Use our Fullscreen toolbar button for more space.
- If the upstream game reports a network error, try again later. This guide does not operate its hosting.
What we actually tested
On October 11, 2026, a cross-origin iframe in desktop Chrome rendered KenneyPark and responded to keyboard push input. The game’s FPS overlay showed about 60 during that smoke test. It was a short functional test, not a measured benchmark or a cross-device certification. Multiplayer and physical gamepads remain untested by this site.
